The Pool at The Cliffden

The swimming pool is open to all resident hotel guests and members with a current monthly or annual swimming membership.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a competent adult swimmer in the water with them at all times. Maximum ratio two children aged 4-8 years per adult. Maximum ratio one child aged under 4 years per adult.

The pool is unsupervised with no lifeguard on duty and members and guests are advised to exercise extreme care when using the swimming pool facilities and swim at their own risk.

Safety equipment is supplied and checked regularly and video monitoring is in place.

In the event of an emergency, notify the hotel team at the earliest safe opportunity.

The water in the pool is maintained at a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius with the surrounding ambient temperature at 30 degrees.

Please exercise caution when introducing young children to the swimming pool. The minimum recommended temperature for babies below three months of age or weighing less than 12lbs in weight is 32 degrees or 30 degrees for older babies, so our pool would be unsuitable. Toddlers under two years of age are able to swim on the condition that they wear a wetsuit at 29 degrees.

Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim nappy in the pool and this must be disposed of appropriately.

Hotel guests can collect towels from Reception. Members must supply their own.

The pool opens seven days a week from 7am until 8pm.

There are no restrictions on when or for how long you use the pool and no need to book in advance. For health and safety reasons, we do have a maximum number of bathers permitted so, in the unlikely event that that the maximum number of swimmers is reached we may limit access.

Our hotel swimming pool is 15 metres long.

Yes, male and female changing areas with showers are available within the swimming pool building.

The pool is located in a separate building and requires keycard access. Guests should ‘check-in’ to the pool at Reception and collect a keycard to gain access. You must notify us of how many of your party, all of whom must be hotel residents or paid members, are joining you.

Yes, all users of the swimming pool (or parents of under 18s) must agree to and abide by the rules of using the swimming facilities.
